Francine and Gerison Lansdown Children’s Rights Essay Prize

Overview:
The awards aim to support students engaged in children’s rights research and advocacy, and to encourage critical thinking about children’s rights issues. Essays on children’s rights research and advocacy, and to encourage critical thinking about children’s rights issues. We welcome essays that focus on the broad theme of children’s rights and mental health, girls’ rights, health, and climate change.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be registered full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Canadian university or have graduated from such a program less than one year ago.
How to Apply & Format:
- Complete essays should be sent to the Landon Pearson Centre Director, Virginia Caputo (virginia_caputo@carleton.ca ) with the subject line “Francine and Gerison Lansdown Essay Submission” by December 31, 2024.
- Essays must not exceed 10 double spaced pages in length (approximately 3000 words) (plus notes, references, and cover page)
- Can be submitted in English or French
- Must include a cover page (student name, name of department and university at which the candidate is registered and current year of study)
