Gaston Renaud

On June 23, 2010, Mr. Gaston Renaud died at the age of 68 at the Ottawa General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of his translation company (Renaud Expertise Inc.). For 30 years, he also taught French at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Lethbridge, Alberta. In addition, he was the former president of the Association canadienne-française de l'Alberta and the founder of the ACFA in Lethbridge. In addition, he established the first French school in southern Alberta. Mr. Gaston Renaud is the son of Anita Bédard and the late Alfred Renaud of Magog. He left behind his wife Cunéra Koolen and son Félix in Rockland, Ontario, his other children Véronique (Scott Cooper), Daniel (Sarah Gillespie) and their mother Monique; His brothers Clément (Monique Pelletier) and the late Jean-Marc (Huguette Tanguay), his sisters Carmelle (Gabriel Lacroix) and Suzanne (Serge Gauthier); Her grandchildren: Victoria, Luc and Hannah; several uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces, cousins, and his in-laws from the Netherlands.  
A religious service was celebrated on July 3, 2010 at 10 am, in St-Jean-Bosco church in Magog. The ashes were deposited at St-Patrice cemetery in Magog.  By way of sympathy, offerings of masses or gifts to the CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY would be appreciated by the family.
