Passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, June 1, 1975, Dr. John Thomas. Hamilton at the age of 50 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Isabelle Hamilton. Born in Trail, B.C., raised and educated in Rossland, B.C., the late Dr. Hamilton received his B.A. at the University of British Columbia and his Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa. He served overseas in Europe during the Second World War with the Canadian Scottish and Seaforth Highlanders and was with the Canadian troops that liberated Amsterdam. He was an active supporter of the Alberta and Lethbridge New Democratic Party and member of the Lethbridge Chapter of the Committee for an Independent Canada. Besides his loving wife, he is also survived by one son, Gordon S. Hamilton at home; three daughters, Mrs. Gail McFadden of Victoria, B.C., Miss Susan Hamilton of Port Hardy, B.C., Miss Sharon Hamilton at home; his father, Mr. Nesbit J. Hamilton of Montrose, BC; his mother Mrs. J. Hamilton of Vancouver. B.C.; and one grandson, Jeremy. He was predeceased by a son, John Douglas, in 1971. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 4, 1975, in Mary The Virgin Anglican Church (12th St. C, N at 6th Ave.), with Canon R. W, Cowan officiating. Cremation followed.
