CLARKE, Dr. Stephen Glenn − Passed away in Lethbridge on January 13, 1999, Dr Stephen Glenn Clarke at the age of 61 years.

Beloved husband of Mrs. Carole Clarke of Lethbridge. Born May, 30 1937 in Toronto, Ontario Glenn received his BA in 1962 and his MA in 1964 from Queens University in Kingston. In 1966 he graduated with his PhD from Queens in Economics. From Queens he went to the University of Waterloo Economics Department as an Assistant Professor, and from there to the Competition Branch of Industry Canada. In 1975 he moved to the University of Lethbridge as an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department, becoming an Associate Professor the next year, chairing the department from 1977-1983, and retiring in 1993.

Besides his loving wife Carole, Glenn is survived by two daughters, Catherine (Trent) Osler of Edmonton, and Elizabeth Joan Madany of Lethbridge; one granddaughter Stephanie Clarke Madany of Lethbridge; one sister Elizabeth “Bette” Coyle (companion Bob) of Cornwall Ontario, and David Coyle, also of Cornwall, Ontario. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Bernice (Farquhar) Clarke.

Cremation in Martin Bros. Chapel of Peace. A Memorial Service was held at 3pm on Saturday, January 18, 1999 held in MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Peter Waller officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Heart and Stroke foundation of Alberta, 1011 2nd Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 0C8.
