Access to the Library Remains Unchanged
Library privileges continue into retirement. This means that you can continue to check out books, request materials using interlibrary loan, and use the Library's online resources from any location.
You can sign in to view these using your U of L username. This is your U of L email address -- the part before the @uleth.ca
Library Privileges Must Be Renewed Annually
The Registrar's office maintains a list of retired faculty members, academic assistants and librarians but the Library does not have direct access to this information. As a result, you are required to renew your ID card on a regular basis.
- Visit the General Services Desk at the University Library with your ID card.
- If you are unable to validate your ID card in person, you may apply to do so online. Please allow two (2) working days for the application to be processed.
The Alberta Library (T.A.L. Card)
The Alberta Library is an award-winning consortium of over 290 member libraries whose mission is "strengthening communities through collaboration." Member libraries include public, university, college, technical institute, and special libraries from across Alberta.
With a TAL Card you can borrow materials from TAL member libraries and return items to any participating TAL library, including the Lethbridge Public Library.
TAL Cards are free and may be obtained by visiting the U of L Library's General Services Desk in person. They must be renewed annually so be sure to check its expiry date before you travel!
