Dr. Trushar Patel at the University of Lethbridge and Dr. Carla Coffin at the University of Calgary have secured Alberta Innovates funding worth $639,000 to further research aimed at developing innovative strategies to combat hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
HBV is a global public health problem responsible for a million deaths every year, according to the Hepatitis B Foundation.

On Friday, April 12, 2019, the Dhillon School of Business celebrated its annual Scholarship Dinner by honouring Ralph A. Thrall III and the McIntyre Ranch. The event brought in $30,000 for the Ralph Thrall McIntyre Ranch Scholarship Fund and a scholarship from this fund will be given out to a Dhillon School of Business student each year at the University of Lethbridge.

A research project led by a University of Lethbridge undergraduate has revealed evidence of an evolutionary relationship between migration and vocal duetting in birds.
Vocal duets occur when a mated pair of birds sings together. The study, which is the first to describe the evolution of duetting in a family of birds known as warblers, shows that duetting co-evolved with the absence of migration.
