Shining Students
Shining students are engaged inside and outside of the classroom. What makes a student shine may differ from person to person, but they all share a passion for learning. They may be top students or involved in an innovative project, or possibly they are participating in ground-breaking research, playing Pronghorn athletics, fighting for social issues or all of the above!
Peer to peer engagement plays a key role in recruiting and retaining students; it lends authenticity and highlights the extraordinary opportunities available at the University of Lethbridge. When students find something they enjoy and combine it with what they are good at, they shine. Highlighting this exciting student work will show future students that they too can shine at uLethbridge.
Each year we showcase Shining Students in several ways. For example, students may be profiled on the uNews website and/or in U of L publications. In addition, we invite them to participate in Open House and other events. Shining Students truly exemplify the U of L student spirit and their unique perspective is precisely what their peers want to hear about.
We are interested in students at the undergraduate and graduate levels who are shining examples of student excellence and who are willing to engage with prospective students about their U of L experiences. These students are nominated by thebFaculty of Arts & Science's faculty and staff and are awarded with a gift of appreciation and/or entered for a prize draw. If you would like to nominate a shining student (or several), let us know by completing a short form.
