About
Cindy Gaetz began her career as part of the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2011. She is a Registered Psychologist, instructor, and Internship Coordinator in the Addictions Counselling Program. As an educator she is passionate about issues related to counsellor education, training, and supervision. Working from a lens of self-inquiry and critical thinking, she encourages an experiential learning environment that fosters independent, autonomous, creative, self-reflective future counselling practioners.
Areas of interest related to clinical issues:
- Trauma as an contributing factor in the development and treatment of addictions and mental health issues
- The significance of lifespan, human development and life transition issues related to mental health, addiction, and treatment
- Cultural, psychosocial, and political issues as significant factors in the development and maintenance of addictions and mental health issues
