On March 19, 2021, Prof. Sheila McManus organized a panel to discuss "Oh the places you'll go (with a History degree)!" The six panelists (see below) discussed the twists and turns that took them from some undergrad courses in History to their current positions. View the panel discussion here.
Kelti Baird graduated from the U of L in 2012 with a BA in history and is now the proud co-owner of Theoretically Brewing Co in Lethbridge. She is a passionate community advocate dedicated to service in Lethbridge.
Belinda Crowson completed her BEd with a social studies major at the U of L in 1992 and a BSc in biochemistry in 1998. She is a historian, educator, writer, and a member of Lethbridge City Council, on a quest to know more and do better.
Bobbie Fox completed her BA in history at the U of L in 1997. She is the Archives Assistant at the Galt Museum & Archives. She is also heavily involved with the Lethbridge Historical Society and the Lethbridge Terry Fox Run Committee.
Dave McMurray completed his MA in history at the U of L in 2007. He is currently the Manager of Applied Research at Lethbridge College and is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the U of L Department of History. Dave was a university student before the internet and email – though there were still video games.
Shannon Murray holds a PhD in history from the University of Calgary (2015) and works in public history and programming for the Calgary Stampede. In her role, Shannon uses her strong research and communication skills to make history engaging and accessible to the broader community.
Matt Todd finished his BA at the U of L in 2001, and his MA and PhD at the University of Saskatchewan where he specialized in environmental history. After teaching for several years at the U of L and Lethbridge College he worked as an environmental consultant in Vancouver and is now the Historian for World and Character Design at Ubisoft in Quebec City.
