Children aged 5 to 16 have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of science based and recreational activities at the University of Lethbridge this summer through the Learning Quest Summer Science Camps.
Beginning June 27 and running through to August 26, camps include everything from super heroes to animal evolution, astronomy, Minecraft, electrical engineering, creating robots and grossology (studying everything gross).
“Our number one priority is to make science fun,” says Valerie Archibald, manager, Youth Science Programs. “Our campers get full days of exploring science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on activities, experiments and games. We also swim two days a week and visit the spray park for games and water activities.”
There are three different camps offered per week throughout the summer (except for June 27-30 and Aug. 2-5 where just one camp is available due to long weekends), and all camp fees include a t-shirt or USB wristband (Codemakers camps). Children aged five must have completed kindergarten and six-year-old campers must have completed grade 1.
“Summer is a time for your kids to have fun, but it doesn’t mean they can’t put their previous learning to use in creative ways, learn some new information and find some new friends along the way,” adds Archibald.
