Keys to Piano Workshop - March 14 & 15, 2025
The University of Lethbridge Conservatory of Music in collaboration with the Lethbridge Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers' Association is hosting our annual piano workshop on Friday, March 14 (5:30 - 7:00 for teachers), and Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Casa (230 8th Street South). This workshop is open to any piano student and piano teacher in Lethbridge or area. Please note: the March 14 session is intended for piano teachers and advanced piano students.
2025 Featured Clinicians: Cheryl Emery-Karapita and Carolyn Herrington
Be prepared for a full immersion in everything to do with the piano! Students can sign up for a half day or full day option and perform up to 2 pieces for the clinicians, participate in break-out sessions, listen to a noon-hour clinician recital and enjoy a catered lunch.
MARCH 15, 2025 REGISTRATION OPTIONS:
-- Half-Day (choose 9:15-1pm or 12-4pm): $40 - includes lunch, concert, opportunity to perform 1 piece & break-out sessions
--Full-Day (9:15-4pm): $60 - includes lunch, concert, opportunity to perform up to 2 pieces & break-out sessions
--Student Observer (9:15-4pm): $40 - includes lunch, concert & break-out sessions
--Teacher Option (9:15-4pm): $25* - includes lunch, concert, break-out sessions, plus Friday night teacher session (March 14, 5:30-7pm)
*Break-out sessions will include intro to fiddling, steel-pans, music history, music & movement, and a session on the harpsicord.
**Registration is free to teachers who have at least 1 full day student enrolled. Choose the "free" option when registering.
Friday, March 14, 5:30-7pm - Teacher Session topics: "Thinking Orchestrally at the Piano" and "ADHD and the Wiggly Student" (this session is open to registered teachers, as well as registered senior-students.
