Subject Searching in Databases Most databases provide a list of approved subject headings, sometimes called a thesaurus. This is another way to find subject headings or descriptors for your topic.
			Search for "Native Americans" in DATABASE BY SUBJECT. From that list open "Academic Search Complete". From the top navigation bar open "Subject Terms". Browsing subject terms allows you to refine your search showing the preferred descriptor in that database.
