Biography

Mike has been an Educator for over 30 years with more than 25 years of teaching experience at the Post Secondary Level. Post Secondary teaching experience includes Aurora College, Lethbridge Community College, Athabasca University. Mike joined the University of Lethbridge in 2003.

Mike's business experience stems from various sources which include four years as a Commercial Account Manager with the Bank of Montreal. Other business experience derives from the operation of three e-commerce businesses and consulting (MM & Associates) opportunities over the years. Some of his previous and current clients include SNC - Lavalin, Dow Chemical, and Daytona Homes.

Research Interests

Mike has had the opportunity to do research and curriculum design in the following areas:

University of Lethbridge

As a contributing author for McGraw-Hill, I have completed textbook revisions for "Retailing Management," the 5th, 6th and 7th editions.

I completed a project as a Teaching Fellow titled "Experiential Learning," which reported on various experiential learning practices across faculties at the UofL.

I wrote a manuscript with Carmen Mombourquette titled "Exploring Methods to Increase Post-Secondary Instructor use of Effective Teaching Strategies to Enhance Student Engagement in Learning," and I am currently finding a publisher to work with.

Over the past ten years, I have had the opportunity to write both cases, instructor's manuals and other materials for McGraw-Hill and Pearson Education. Please take a look at my CV to see these in more detail.

Lethbridge Community College

Designed, developed and instructed distance-learning courses: Marketing (MKT 188), Entrepreneurship (BUS 177), Business Finance (BUS 292) and Service Based Accounting (ACC 125). Introduction to Management (BUS 170), Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (ORG 251), Basic Accounting (ACC126).

Government of the Northwest Territories

They designed and developed a curriculum for the Department of Education while working at Sir John Franklin High School. The curriculum included Marketing, Management and Information Processing.
