Biography

Migueltzinta C. SolĂ­s is an interdisciplinary mestizXXX artist, writer and filmmaker. He has worked in a range of fields including sustainable agriculture, childcare, theater technology and fine arts education. Migueltzinta's interests include institutional intervention and critique, autotheoretical methodologies in queer and postcolonial studies, questions of (un)belonging to place and land, contemporary Indigenous arts and knowledge creation, the potential for and limitations of hybrid Latinx Indigenous futurities, the pleasures and politics of amateur pornography production, intersections of transmasculinity, space and time, the "Wild West" and other colonial imaginaries. Migueltzinta holds an MFA in Art and a PhD in Cultural, Social and Political Thought from the University of Lethbridge/Iniskim in Treaty 7, traditional Blackfoot territory, where he is now Assistant Professor of Indigenous Art Studio.
