About Me
I joined the Faculty in 2016, after 14 years in public schools, primarily as a high school English Language Arts teacher in rural settings. A passionate supporter and amateur practitioner of multiple arts, I also taught visual art, drama, film studies, and various media options. With a professional philosophy rooted in arts-based practices and a strong interest for inter-related, multi-modal, and transmedia literacies, my instruction of pre-service teachers is often geared at developing their capacities by approaching teaching itself as an art. While I am currently continuing my own learning through doctoral studies and research in language and literacy learning, I am primarily interested in teacher development/training and am deeply committed to my role as an Instructor.
