Charlotte Brenner obtained her PhD in Educational and Counselling Psychology and Special Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Prior to her appointment as Assistant Professor at the University of Lethbridge she worked as a general and special educator in the Surrey School District for 25 years. During this time, she taught courses in Special Education and Educational Psychology at UBC, The University of Winnipeg and Brock University. Her research is focused on creating inclusive learning environments for students and teachers. Currently, she is examining supports and constraints for teacher candidates' perceptions of authenticity and self-determined motivation as they engage in their teacher education programs.
