Arconic STEM Club
Middle School & Junior High School Students
2022-23 Friday Afterschool Club for Grades 6-9
With help from the Arconic Foundation, we are able to bring STEM to middle school and junior high students (Gr 6-9). These clubs are run in partnership with the Lethbridge School District and Holy Spirit Catholic School District school within Lethbridge. This club is provided to an equal number of those identifying as female and male. This gender balance provides an opportunity to breakdown existing stereotypes and to open the conversation about equal opportunity for all to participate in science.
Each club explores the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through activities and discussions. Students will engage with mentors who are role models within their fields of expertise. Throughout this club, participants will be able to discover career connections related to their interests in the fields of STEM.
This club is run out of Lethbridge schools, anyone interested in joining should check with their school office for more info.

With this collaboration, DE has been able to continue its in-school clubs for those in Grades 4+ and bring STEM to a wider audience. Both the Science Sizzle and Arconic STEM Clubs are provided to an equal number of those identifying as female and male. This gender balance provides an opportunity to breakdown existing stereotypes and to open the conversation about equal opportunity for all to participate in science.
