WFS Safety Information
All facility users must read and sign the rental safety agreement. Field Researchers and students must be equipped with the appropriate training, equipment and preparation for visits and outdoor work in wild areas. Station maintenance, difficult terrain, weather, fire, wildlife, injuries and encounters with the public should all be accounted for in a Supervisor Safety Plan to be submitted along with the rental request.
Users must familiarize themselves with any active advisories before heading onsite, which can be found here.
Safety Plan & Hazard Assessments
Users looking to book the field station will need to work with the University of Lethbridge’s Risk and Safety Services department to complete a safety program (including hazard assessments) specific to the research they will be conducting while onsite.
