Students from Lethbridge high schools showcased their Ctrl-Salt-Del synthetic biology project
The University of Lethbridge high school International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) team came away with the Best Opportunity Analysis award and an $1,800 travel bursary after competing at their first geekStarter jamboree in Canmore on May 26 and 27. The team earned the award for analyzing previous work done by iGEM teams and learning from its limitations.

The University of Lethbridge is excited to celebrate the achievements of its newest graduates at the 2018 Spring Convocation, May 31 and June 1 in the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness.
Distinguishing themselves among the many outstanding graduates are the U of L’s medal winners for 2018. They are as follows:
Gold Medal of the Governor General – Jason Flindall (Ceremony I)
Awarded to the student with the highest academic standing at the graduate level.

Over the next two days, the University of Lethbridge will celebrate the achievements of 1,351 students as they cross the stage at the 2018 Spring Convocation.
Ceremonies take place Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1 at the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day.
All ceremonies are free and open to the public and media.
