The University of Lethbridge Bookstore has participated enthusiastically in the annual Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation’s Christmas Tree Festival, sending a message of hope and empathy to the southern Alberta community. This year, thanks to the participation of school children from throughout Lethbridge, more people will receive this message than ever before.

The new Global Citizenship Cohort at the University of Lethbridge gives students an opportunity to learn about the world while fostering their desire to make a positive difference. In high school, Taylor Myndio learned about resource depletion and the oppression of people around the globe. That sparked an interest in environmental and social issues and she felt pulled to action. When she registered at the U of L and heard about the Global Citizenship Cohort, she didn’t hesitate to sign up.

A University of Lethbridge professor named one of Canada’s greatest explorers has traded his high-flying days for the chance to mentor the next generation of discoverers. When Canadian Geographic magazine published its list of Canada’s greatest explorers 2015, Dr. Chris Hopkinson, a U of L geography professor, found his name in the ‘H’ section, right along with astronaut Chris Hadfield.
