Philosophy Department Undergraduate Conference - Call For Papers

Location: Lethbridge, Alberta

The Department of Philosophy invites high-quality undergraduate student submissions for our undergraduate student conference. Papers may be on any philosophical subject and may include work originally written for other purposes (such as coursework). Individuals from groups typically underrepresented in philosophy are particularly encouraged to apply. Papers will be blind-refereed with notices of acceptance sent out by early-February. Submissions should be suitable for a twenty-minute presentation.

January 13, 2025 | 11:59 P.M. (MST)

Submission Guidelines

  • Papers in any area of philosophy are welcome.

  • Authors must be students enrolled as undergraduates during the Spring 2025 semester.

  • Papers must be suitable for a 20-minute presentation (max. 4000 words, not including notes and references).

  • Include the word count and an abstract of approximately 120 words before your paper.

  • Ensure that the title of your paper is at the top of the first page (and in the body of your email).

  • Prepare your paper for anonymous review; no information that makes it possible to identify the author should be included anywhere in the paper.

To Submit

  • Save your submission as a DOC/X, RTF, or PDF file.

  • Send as an email attachment to Professor Bryson Brown at: brown@uleth.ca

  • Use “Student Conference” as the subject line of your email.

  • Include your name, university, email address, and the title of your paper in the body of your email.
