I completed my undergraduate, MSc, and PhD in Milan, Italy. During my PhD, I investigated the effects of dietary nitrate supplementation on exercise tolerance in various populations, such as individuals with obesity and the elderly, and under different conditions, like high altitude. I also participated in a bed rest campaign in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency to study the effects of microgravity on aerobic fitness.

In 2020, I moved to Canada to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary, where I focused on sex- and fitness-related differences in cardiovascular function. My expertise lies in exercise physiology and energetic metabolism, particularly the regulation of muscular oxygen delivery and utilization under varying conditions. At the University of Lethbridge, my research is centered on sex differences in endurance exercise training adaptation, with the goal of improving exercise training prescriptions.

My teaching approach emphasizes critical thinking by applying theoretical concepts to real-world problems and fostering problem-solving through scenarios and brainstorming. My goal is to provide essential knowledge, nurture critical thinking, and inspire curiosity, guiding students toward success.

Outside of work, I love spending my time hiking, climbing, and camping. When winter comes, my husband Hamid and I enjoy cozying up at home, binge-watching TV series with our giant dog, Ace, and our cat, Pishi.
