Prairie plants throughout southern Alberta may contain chemical properties that can be utilized in medicine, even to fight diseases such as cancer. Until now, nobody has studied them. Dr. Roy Golsteyn of the Department of Biological Sciences and his research partners, including undergraduate and graduate students, are actively investigating how these plants and their chemical properties may contribute to treatments in the future.
