University of Lethbridge student Kathryn Eberl has been rewarded for her diligence in ensuring Canada's youth are engaged as supporters of Canadian Blood Services.
Eberl, a Claresholm resident and second-year U of L student, was recently awarded a $1,000 bursary as part of the Student Bursary Program initiated by Canadian Blood Services and supported by RBC Lethbridge. The program was a summer recruitment initiative that encouraged students to recruit at least 20 blood doners, eight of which had to be new donors. Eberl recruited 20 blood donors, of which 12 were new donors.
Canada's blood supply is dependent on young people making the decision to donate, and to encourage their peers to take part in Canadian Blood Services donation clinics. It is behind the lead of people such as Eberl that the future of the Canadian blood supply is in good hands.
