O'Keefe gives Brenda Milner address

Dr. John O'Keefe, professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London, is known for his monumental discovery of 'place cells' within the region of the brain responsible for spatial navigation and memory.

O'Keefe will deliver the 2010 Brenda Milner Lecture on Thursday, May 13 at 3 p.m. in PE261, 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness, at the University of Lethbridge. His lecture is entitled, Memories of Places Past: Using Our Brains to Map Space.

O'Keefe holds numerous positions and awards including the Gruber Neuroscience Prize, Fellow of the Royal Society, and Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. His current research interests involve developing computational models of spatial navigational and memory processing.

The Brenda Milner Lecture Series is an annual event organized by graduate students of the University of Lethbridge.
