The playoff push is on for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men's hockey team.
Returning home to play the final four games of the Canada West regular season, the Horns (13-11-0) sit in fourth spot in the standings and need just one point to clinch a playoff berth. Friday and Saturday they will play host to University of Calgary Dinos (9-14-1), a team the Horns have beaten in each of their four previous meetings this season.
A home playoff date is also within reach for the Pronghorns, who have a four-point lead on both Regina and University of British Columbia. The top six teams make playoffs with the top two seeds (University of Alberta and University of Saskatchewan) receiving first round playoff byes. The third and fourth finishers earn home playoff dates. Pronghorns are four points back of third-place Manitoba Bisons but have two games in hand.
Pronghorns will close out the regular season next weekend, Feb. 20-21, with two home games against the Alberta Golden Bears. Game times this weekend are 7 p.m. both nights at Nicholas Sheran Arena.
