The University of Lethbridge's Education Undergraduate Society's (EUS) Bust the Backpack initiative will provide much needed school supplies to students in need at a number of southern Alberta schools.

Part of the Faculty of Education, the EUS and its representatives have gathered enough supplies to fill 22 backpacks for schools throughout southern Alberta.

"We're delighted by the efforts and generosity of the education students, faculty, and staff of the Faculty of Education," says Teena Cormack, past vice-president internal, EUS. "We hope the Bust the Backpack campaign continues to grow. There is a need for supplies in the public classrooms – especially in these hard economic times."

The classroom as a whole, as well as the individual student, can always make use of extra supplies and the EUS recognizes this.

"If we can help a school in even the smallest way then we have done our jobs," says Jennifer Shuster, EUS president.

The EUS is one of many groups on campus that supports a variety of initiatives that connect the U of L to the southern Alberta community.
