Effective immediately and until further notice a fire ban has been placed on all open fires in the river valley area, which includes the University of Lethbridge property.

Excluded are the stoves at the John Martin Centre, the fire pit at the Elks Compound and any fire pit at a private residential dwelling.

A separate fire ban has also been issued for the County of Lethbridge, which has cancelled all fire permits and will not be issuing any until the fire ban (County Bylaw 1209) is lifted.
