As we approach the Christmas season, the need for donated blood becomes especially acute. Canadian Blood Services and the University of Lethbridge have joined forces in creating a fun challenge that will assist the cause.
The Educators vs. Health Sciences is a blood donor challenge that is running throughout the month of October. It pits the Education program against the Faculty of Health Sciences. With a total goal of 100 donations for the duration of the challenge, each side will try and elicit the most.
Currently, the early returns have Health Sciences with a 10-6 lead over Education.
To participate, people can attend any of the Canadian Blood Services Donor Clinics and indicate which team they are supporting in the challenge.
Donor clinic times are as follows:
Tuesday - 10 to 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday/Thursday - Noon to 7:30 p.m.
Friday - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Canadian Blood Services is located on the 2nd floor of the Lethbridge Centre mall.
