For the second time this season, Brett Silbernagel of the Horns men's soccer team has earned a Subway Pronghorn Athlete of the Week honour.
Silbernagel, along with Megan Bailey of the women's hockey team, picked up the weekly honours for their weekend efforts in Canada West play.
The men's soccer team has now recorded points in seven consecutive contests, including a pair of weekend draws against the University of Winnipeg. Silbernagel, a fifth-year defender, was a key contributor in the weekend results. The Horns allowed just one goal over two games and just nine total shots on net.
Bailey's Horns dropped both their weekend games to the defending national champion University of Calgary Dinos, but Bailey was a strong offensive presence for the club. She scored the team's lone goal in a 4-1 season-opening loss at Nicholas Sheran Arena and was tasked to play in all situations against the defending champs.
