Stay Healthy This Cold and Flu Season!
Dear University community,
As we settle into the winter months, it's important to remember that cold and flu season is upon us. To keep our campus healthy and thriving, we encourage everyone to practice good habits and take care of themselves and others.
Tips for Staying Healthy:
- Practice Good Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer if soap is unavailable.
- Wear Face Masks When Needed: Consider wearing a mask in crowded indoor spaces to reduce the spread of respiratory droplets.
- Avoid Touching Your Face: Refrain from touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Use a tissue or your elbow to cover coughs and sneezes. Dispose of tissues properly.
- Stay Home if Feeling Unwell: Protect others by staying home when you feel sick and seeking medical advice if necessary.
For managers and academic staff: We understand that illness can disrupt both work and studies. We encourage managers to offer flexibility to staff members who are feeling unwell.
Similarly, we urge the academic staff to be understanding and accommodating towards students who may fall ill.
Let's work together to ensure a healthy and supportive environment for everyone. By taking these simple steps, we can minimize the impact of cold and flu season on our campus community.
Stay healthy and take care!
