In preparation for Indigenous Awareness Week, Agility will host a ribbon skirt and shirt workshop facilitated by Tracy and Tatiana Weasel Moccasin! Design and make your own ribbon skirt or shirt over the month of January on Friday afternoons in a relaxed and fun atmosphere in the Innovation Zone. Beginner sewers are welcome!
Priority will be given to University of Lethbridge students, please register with your uleth email address.
The sessions will take place from 12-4 p.m. each Friday.
*Participants will need to attend both January 10 and 17 sessions to acquire the knowledge and instruction needed for the project.
- January 10: Innovation Zone sewing machine training, fabric selection and pattern cutout. Lunch provided!
- January 17: History of ribbon skirts and shirts, prayer and blessing by a Blackfoot elder, begin sewing! Lunch provided.
- January 24: Drop-in guided sewing. Snacks provided!
- January 31: Drop-in guided sewing. Snacks provided!
