The University of Lethbridge expresses its condolences to the family, friends and former colleagues of Ione Skafte, who passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 76.
Skafte worked at ULethbridge from 1993 through 1998 in the Department of Human Resources, holding a variety of roles during her tenure. she began as Manager, Employee Records, before moving into positions as Associate Director, Human Resources, and Manager, Payroll and Benefits.
An obituary notice can be found here. As per her request, a private family service will be held.
The University will lower its flag in honour of Skafte on Thursday, July 18.
