Community Bridge Lab Project Award

The University of Lethbridge Community Bridge Lab (CBL) student award ($1000) deadline is in early September. If you are working with a student on a qualitative and community-engaged project — including honours, independent study, co-op, and applied work — please encourage the student to apply for the CBL Project Award ($1000).

The application deadline is September 15th for Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 projects. Email a CBL faculty member for more details, visit our website here or access the application form here.  As a reminder, any student engaged in qualitative and community-engaged research can be part of the CBL regardless of whether or not their supervisor is connected.

The CBL is an interdisciplinary space that supports (primarily) undergraduate students in social sciences or humanities disciplines who are pursuing community-engaged and qualitative projects. One of the ways we support students is by providing them access to a space to work in, peers to work with, mentoring, and skills workshops and activities. CBL award recipients must agree to be Bridge Fellows. This typically includes attending meetings with other fellows and participating in CBL events and training workshops.

CBL-affiliated faculty provide organizational support and skills development, not project supervision.  As a co-working space, the CBL offers students who may otherwise work in isolation a place for peer support and skill building. A simple idea perhaps - but we believe it is a powerful one.
