We Are INISKIM.
Our University’s Blackfoot name is Iniskim, meaning Sacred Buffalo Stone. Our name was gifted by Elder Bruce Wolf Child in 2002. The University is located in Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Indigenous peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
The University of Lethbridge is proud to launch our new line of Iniskim merchandise during Indigenous Awareness Week 2024. As a response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, 15 per cent of all sales of Iniskim Merchandise will be donated to Indigenous Students Scholarships and Awards at the University of Lethbridge.
The University of Lethbridge Bookstore will have Iniskim Merchandise available starting March 11, 2024.
*Purchase your Iniskim Merchandise at our pop-up shop at the Indigenous Artisans Market in the U-Hall Atrium
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13 during Indigenous Awareness Week 2024.
