SACPA Session — Deciphering the Entrails of the 2024 US Presidential Election

The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) presents a session with former University of Lethbridge professor Dr. Trevor Harrison as he discusses the fallout from the recently held U.S. Presidential Election.

Deciphering the Entrails of the 2024 US Presidential Election

This talk will focus on who voted and why. It will dispel several interpretations of the outcome and conclude that the election is best seen as a reflection of a crisis facing the American political and party systems.

Speaker: Dr. Trevor Harrison

Dr. Trevor W. Harrison is a retired professor of sociology at the University of Lethbridge. He was formerly Director of Parkland Institute (2011-2021) and a member of both the Canadian political science and sociology associations. He is best known for his studies in political sociology, political economy and public policy. He is the author, co-author, or co-editor of twelve books, including the recently published Tales This Side of the Elysian Fields. He is a frequent and well-known contributor to public media, including radio and television.

Date/Time: Thursday, Dec 19, 2024. The session begins at noon and concludes at 1 p.m.

Cost is free, donations, however, are gratefully accepted.

Location: SACPA sessions are held at Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (LSCO), Atrium Dining Room, 500 -11 Street S, Lethbridge

Lunch and Refreshments: Please arrive early to patronize the LSCO cafeteria and enjoy its excellent variety of good-value food options. The Atrium Dining Room is available by 11:15 a.m.
