Talking About Teaching - Teaching Neurodiverse Students

As rewarding and fulfilling as teaching can be, sometimes we face challenges on how best to meet the academic needs of some students. Students come into our classrooms with diverse learning profiles and experiences which require us to alter our approaches if we’re going to have them succeed. Is this a fair expectation in a university classroom? Should we think differently about how to teach students with Executive Function challenges, with ADHD, with emotional and behavioural differences, autism, anxiety and depression? How can university teachers be expected to effectively teach such an array of diverse learning profiles? This session explores these questions.

Staff, academic staff, and graduate students are all welcome!
