MPox information — what you need to know

On August 14, 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared mpox a global health emergency, following an outbreak of the viral infection in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) that has spread to neighbouring countries. According to Alberta Health Services (AHS), the risk of contracting mpox in the province remains low. AHS has posted information here. 

We encourage you to become informed about ways to protect yourself from contracting the mpox virus and all other sexually transmitted diseases.  The Health Centre has posted mpox resources here for your information and education.
