Condolence Notice — Charles Lloyd Crane

The University of Lethbridge expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends and former colleagues of Charles Lloyd Crane, who passed away on July 11 at the age of 90.

Crane was among the U of L’s first professors in the Department of Art. After completing a BA and MA from Michigan State University and advanced graduate work at the University of Iowa, he joined the University in July 1969. Crane was an associate professor until his retirement in 2000. During that time, he also served as department chairman, was president of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Association, and, in 1986, participated in the U of L’s exchange program with Hokkai-Gakuen University in Sapporo, Japan.

In honour of Crane, the University will lower its flag on Friday, Aug. 6.
