Prepare to be swept away by the captivating sounds of the University of Lethbridge Wind Orchestra, under the direction of the conductor, Dr. Holly De Caigny, as they take the stage on March 27 at 7:30 pm in the University Theatre. Featured guests include the LCI High School Band and Concerto Competition winner, Cori Campbell!
About the U of L Wind Orchestra: Comprising approximately 65 talented students, the U of L Wind Orchestra is an auditioned ensemble that boasts a diverse mix of music majors and students from various disciplines. With a passion for musical excellence, the orchestra, under the guidance of Dr. Holly De Caigny, has become a dynamic force on campus and beyond.
Performance Excellence: The orchestra's active performance schedule includes four on-campus concerts and notable appearances at the Fall and Spring Convocations. Additionally, their annual tour showcases their commitment to bringing exceptional wind music to diverse audiences.
Eclectic Repertoire: Immerse yourself in a musical journey spanning the past 60 years, as the U of L Wind Orchestra presents an eclectic repertoire sourced from significant composers. This diverse selection not only highlights the ensemble's versatility but also provides a platform for the students, many of whom are aspiring music educators, to master the performance of quality compositions critical to their success. The program features works inspired by nature with a nod to Mexico!
Tickets are on sale now at the University Box Office (Monday - Friday, 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm) or online: ulethbridge.ca/tickets.
Tickets are $20 adult, $15 alumni and senior, $12 student. ULethbridge students receive one complimentary ticket at the University Box Office with valid student ID.
