ULethbridge Jazz Ensemble Concert - Divide and Conquer!

Mark your calendars for a night of toe-tapping rhythms and soulful melodies as the University of Lethbridge Jazz Ensemble takes center stage on March 22 at 7:30 pm in the University Theatre. Under the direction of Dr. Josh Davies, this concert promises an evening filled with the energy and passion of contemporary and vintage big band jazz music. 

Dive into the world of jazz with an ensemble that boasts an eclectic mix of repertoire, featuring both modern and timeless big band classics. This year's program features something the ensemble has never done before! "We have divided the ensemble into two ensembles, or 'little big bands' and each will be exploring a whole different set of repertoire. Only for a couple of pieces are we coming together, but I expect the audience will love what we have up our sleeve!" comments Dr. Davies. Comprising primarily music majors and students from diverse disciplines, the ensemble's performances are known for their lively and engaging atmosphere.

The U of L Jazz Ensemble extends its musical magic beyond campus, performing both on and off-campus, reaching school audiences, and conducting workshops with eager school groups. The ensemble has shared the stage with local groups like the Lethbridge Big Band, the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Vocal Jazz Choir, and numerous high school jazz bands. Collaborations with esteemed guest artists, including Canada's top jazz musicians like PJ Perry, Al Muirhead, Don Clark, Alastair Kay, and Pat Belliveau, add a special touch to their concerts.

Tickets are $20 adult, $15 alumni and senior, $12 student. All ULethbridge students receive one complimentary ticket with a valid student ID at the Box Office).
