Southern Winds Ensemble Musical Experience

Southern Winds, founded in 2018 by alumni Dawn Leite (BA/BEd '04) and Dr. Nick Sullivan (BMus '04), brings together a diverse and talented group of wind, brass and percussion musicians from local, regional and international backgrounds. Every ensemble member has a direct connection to the University of Lethbridge.

In 2024, Southern Winds is gearing up for an exceptional musical experience. This event will feature not one but two ensembles: the professional ensemble and an alum Wind Orchestra ensemble that welcomes all alum musicians to join in the musical celebration.

Each ensemble will include three rehearsals in May, with a performance for the community on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the University of Lethbridge Theatre.

In 2024, our event will go above and beyond with a heartwarming collaboration with the Lethbridge Family Services Angel Tree program. We understand the financial strains many families face, so we're taking a particular step to make this event truly inclusive. In the spirit of giving, we are delighted to offer tickets to our event completely free of charge. We want to ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has the opportunity to enjoy this exceptional musical experience. We'll also encourage our attendees to consider giving back to the Angel Tree program if they can do so.

Musicians are encouraged to contact Dawn and Nick via email or on Facebook if they are interested in playing with the Alumni ensemble. Stay tuned to southernwindsensemble.ca and follow Southern Winds on Facebook for more information.
