This hands-on workshop will build upon the skills taught in the introductory session. Students attending this workshop will receive credit on their MyExperience Transcript.
Requirements:
- It is strongly recommended that participants complete the first Python tutorial, or at least have a basic understanding of:
- Data types: integers, floats, booleans, and strings
- Variables and assignment
- Comments
- Functions
- Data structures: lists and dictionaries
- If, else, and elif conditional statements
- While and for loops
- Participants must have a Google account to be able to use Google Colab
- Computers will be made available, but participants are welcome to bring their own laptop if they prefer
In this workshop you will learn:
- More fundamentals of programming in Python such as reading and writing to files and importing libraries
- How to debug your code
- An introduction to machine learning and data visualization
