The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) presents a session discussing fire safety in the downtown core and the role everyone plays in helping keep people and properties safe.
Downtown fire safety and what is everyone's role in fire prevention?
There has been a recent spike in downtown fires. The speaker will discuss why fire prevention is essential, how we can minimize fire risks and hazards, and the importance of regular checks and maintenance.
Speaker: Troy Hicks, Chief Fire Marshal, Lethbridge Fire & Emergency Services
Troy Hicks has been with the Fire Prevention Bureau of Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services for 13 years and the Chief Fire Marshal since February 2024. Originally from N.B., he has been in the fire service for 21 years, a military firefighter for eight years, and with the Lethbridge service for the past 13 years. He is married with a 24-year-old son.
Date/Time: Thursday, Dec 5, 2024. The session begins at noon and concludes at 1 p.m.
Cost is free, donations, however, are gratefully accepted.
Location: SACPA sessions are held at Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (LSCO), Atrium Dining Room, 500 -11 Street S, Lethbridge
Lunch and Refreshments: Please arrive early to patronize the LSCO cafeteria and enjoy its excellent variety of good-value food options. The Atrium Dining Room is available by 11:15 a.m.
