Nicole Riedmueller is an artist and educator based in Treaty 7 Territory, Lethbridge, Alberta. Riedmueller holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia University of Art and Design, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Lethbridge. Research of clay and ceramic processes are central to her art practice. This includes atmospheric firing, glaze formulation and vessel production from wheel thrown, slip cast and assembled parts. She has attended artist residencies at the Guldagergarrd International Ceramics Research Center in Denmark and the Medalta International Artist Residency, where she currently sits on the Board of Directors. At present her recent work titled Emergent Materialisms is on display at Casa in Lethbridge until October 26. In addition, her work is included in the newly launched exhibition titled Soft Stories, which will be on display for the next two years in various locations throughout Alberta through the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Travelling Exhibition Program. This year she taught Introduction to Ceramic Art as an instructor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge.
