Indigenous STEM Awareness Activities with Destination Exploration

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

Come join DE as we explore some Indigenous STEM! We are going to explore two different hands-on activities that highlight the innovative creations and knowledge of Indigenous peoples. Both sessions will be run at the same time as space is limited to a first come, first served basis. Choose from one of our two fun activities:

Tipi Kinetics or Buffalo Snot Gifs (See descriptions below for details)

Tipi Kinetics: (30 people Max) - Using TinkerCad's 3D modelling software and its new simulation lab, particpants will be given the skills to model identical Tipi poles, and will be challenged to balance the poles against each other while exploring the forces that fight to make them topple.

Buffalo Snot Gif: (21 people Max) - Using the apple Keynote app, participants will learn how to draw, animate and code their very own gif of a buffalo taking part in the process of seed dispersal. Come check out the importance of this ecological engineer as you refine and build your digital art skills in a fun one-hour workshop.
