Department of Economics Seminar
Speaker: Josh Andrus
Josh Andrus is the Executive Director of Project Confederation, a public policy think tank founded in 2019, aimed at changing the political discourse across Canada to address structural political and economic issues within the Confederation. He is a fourth-generation Albertan from Drumheller and holds a Bachelor of Arts (2019) from the University of Lethbridge, majoring in Economics and minoring in Political Science.
Equalization payments have long been a contentious issue between the Canadian government and provinces. The seminar will provide an economic analysis of the escalating costs, the unintended consequences, and the resulting division and acrimony which are but a few of the many prevailing problems.
