Robin Peck is a sculptor and a writer on sculpture. He was born and grew up in Alberta, Canada. He had a memorable rural childhood, but left Alberta in 1968, first for art school in Nelson, British Columbia, then for the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (MFA, 1975). He has taught at various schools including NSCAD (Halifax), ECCAD (Vancouver), and the University of Lethbridge.
Recent solo exhibitions include Canada, NYC (2015), Diaz Contemporary, Toronto (2010) and CAG, Vancouver (2007). Group exhibitions include Enacting Abstraction, Vancouver Art Gallery (2009), Free Soil, Canada, NYC (2011), I Am Not An Answer, Cooper-Cole Gallery, Toronto (2016), Around Flat, Knockdown Center, New York City (2016), and Step Sister with Naotaka Hiro, Pooneh Maghazehe, and Eric Wesley, Brennan & Griffin, New York City (2018.). His essays on sculpture have appeared regularly in a variety of international art publications. He is the author of Journey to the Circumference of the Earth, recently published by the Publication Studio, Vancouver and CANADA, NYC. His sculpture is placed in numerous international public and private collections including The High Museum of Art, Atlanta (USA), the Vancouver Art Gallery (Canada), the Ken and Helen Rowe collection (London, UK), the collection of Ugo Rodinone (New York City) and the Michael Williams collection (Los Angeles.) Robin Peck is represented by CANADA, 60 Lispenard St., Tribecca, New York City and is currently a Full Professor at Saint Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He retires from teaching in 2019.
His exhibition, Crania, opens at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery on March 2 and is on view until April 28, 2019.
