September 25 | Noon | University Recital Hall
Free admission, everyone welcome

In this artist talk, Mahshad Hosseini (MFA-Art '24) explores a visual journey through gender dynamics and cultural practices, showcasing projects that span from Iran to Canada, blending documentary photography with photomontage to explore social resistance and identity. She joins us via Zoom in the recital hall.

Mahshad Hosseini was born in 1999 in Isfahan, a city in the central part of Iran, famous for its architecture and handicrafts. She earned her bachelor's degree in photography from the Art University of Isfahan, where she conducted research on her hometown and began working with photomontage in a hybrid documentary and street style. She immigrated to Canada in 2022 and graduated from the Master of Fine Arts - Art program at the University of Lethbridge in 2024. Despite being far from her homeland, she continues to work on conceptual and documentary projects related to Iran.
