Art NOW series featuring geetha thurairajah

Tracing the evolution of her multi mediated painting practice over the last ten years, thurairajah will focus her lecture around the major shifts that have occurred in her painting approach. With a focus on experimentation and cultural constructs at large, thurairajah will lead us through the highs and lows of discovering one's subject matter and materials through the collaging potential of painting. The artist joins us via zoom in the recital hall for this lecture.

geetha thurairajah lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. thurairajah studied at Bard College, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Rhode Island School of Design and Wilfrid Laurier University. Recent exhibitions include ACID HAUS, Scherben, Berlin, 2024; The Buddha of Suburbia, King’s Leap, New York, 2023; At Land, Foxy Production, New York, 2022; nonplussed-(+), Jack Barrett, New York; Suspended Disbelief, Arsenal Contemporary Art, Toronto, both 2021; and soothsay, Unit 17, Vancouver, 2020 (with Gabi Dao).
